This unit works with both machine and battery sensed alternators.
This unit charges the first bank (normally the engine starting batteries) for 15 minutes then transfers over to the second bank (normally the domestic batteries) for the rest of the time the engine is running, this ensuring that all batteries are receiving some charge even on short journeys.
